Dabke is a traditional dance of the Levant region with differences in style and music according to each country. Dabke combines circle dance and line dancing and is characterized by the constant rhythmic stomping of the ground. Although Dabke is traditionally a celebratory dance practiced in weddings and joyful events, in Palestine it is becoming an expression of strength and resistance against violence and occupation. Furthermore, in the Palestinian diaspora, Dabke is used to preserve their culture while fighting against the negative stereotypes associated with the residents of refugee camps.

For this project, the images of the dancers are printed on resin panels adorned with olive leaves, another historical symbol of Palestinian resistance and right to their ancestral land.

The dancers in this series belong to different Palestinian dance troops in the diaspora in Lebanon.
